A Reminder :The Imposter Movie.

Pride isn't the only misdemeanor that goes before a fall; self-conceit is another gullible gaoler! And this is irrespective of what we are, who we believe in,or where we come from!
As the book of Ezekiel outlined the account that led to Satan's mighty fall from grace;one cannot but ponder in bewilderment how long he's nursed the recalcitrant notion, which eventually got him expunged from his exalted position!
If only the world would listen and beware of the brutality of spiritual warfare and the susceptibility of even the so called "saved", to veer-off from the map: there'd be lesser causalities on the pilgrim's journey!

Johnny C (Kevin Max) was living a double life as the lead vocal of a up-and-coming Christian rock band. He secretly did drugs, regularly cheated on his wife;though he was a preacher's son.
Enslaved by his self-conceit, Johnny eventually gets overpowered and plunged deep into the abyss like Jonah the prophet. This was in order that he'd be able to confront his life as he really is, on a mirror.

Singing about Jesus or even having an eloquence in spiritual topics about God doesn't make anyone a believer! Without experiencing a true encounter with the Lord, living a Christian life is simply "flat-packed religion" at its best.

Though a low budget movie, and also not a happy-ending style of movie, yet The Imposter does deliver in painting the stark message about spiritual rediscovery:

i. We might be gifted, talented,or simply geniuses at whatever we do, yet we can't function in isolation of others.
ii. Our Repentance and reconciling with the Lord doesn't always mean there's a quick fix in sight; rather this simply opens the possibility for one to learn to know, to walk, and to continue learning about the person of God unto freedom.
iii. With so much fuzz about rehab centres; the success rate for detoxification is minimal when compared to a continued touch from the Lord.

The imposter of the brethren is still hard at work targeting not only the "big guns" or even the "small fry". On the contrary, lots of Christian musicians and para-ministers have fallen prey on the wayside as pawns owing to their spiritual insensitivities. There wouldn't have been none other actors to depict the import of the message of this movie other than the very musicians themselves.

I'd recommend you grab a copy this season,or revisit it if you've seen it but couldn't make anything out of it.
