Book Review: Pure Desire by Gary Inrig

A young friend gave consent to this account. She only met God after her soul cried out for a change. Though born to Christian parents, she was already sexually hyper-active and profiting from its obscenities, at only 15years of age! Her father wept freely as she made this confession. Assigned to entertain a group of male clients, this teenage girl suddenly came to her senses and wanted out;but her brothel manageress would have none of that. Her true desires set her free!

Gary Inrig's cut and dried exposée on this rather simple-yet-tough title mirrors the true condition of the heart of many-a-thirsting Christians. Pure Desire echoes a biblical drive to set at liberty the hearts of God's children confused about the sexual matters. It offers fresh biblical advices which has been relegated to the background in today's sexually saturated cultures.
While it is a good moral precautionary advice offered to any good Christian to abstain from sexual sins[either committed by simply gawking,or becoming a prey by choice] and its similitudes. It must be pointed that out at this junction that, even the spiritually alert and well-versed saints need to stand on their toes in resistance to its enslaving and unrelenting venomous hook!
Deliberating on cogent topics which encourages the need for believers to stand fast against culturally-sound but unscriptural conjectures; Gary endeavours to delve deeper touching grey areas like our walk with the Lord, and marriages and infidelity. Whilst challenging young believers to stand faithful to God as vessels unto honour despite all the permissible and delusional values trivializing sexual sins!
I can conclude that Pure Desire is a quiet yet honest call to enrol into the school of victorious spiritual warfare. This,if we'd wish to experience True Spiritual Liberty in Christ Jesus regardless of the disposition of the prevailing culture. After all, Elijah was a man of like passion, and yet never conformed to his surrounding culture.

Like the young teenager Christian above, she came to a place where she questioned her longings, then changed course after a Pure Desire. This book will benefit both young adults and anyone locked in a secret battle with spiritual weaknesses.
